Water District 1 Weekly Water Reports

MID is sharing the weekly Water District 1 reports to help keep our water users informed throughout the irrigation season. These reports provide updates on snowpack conditions, river flows, reservoir storage, and projected water availability across the Upper Snake River Basin. Because this is expected to be a tight water year, we want our waterusers to have direct access to the same information we are using to monitor conditions and make operational decisions. We will continue posting these reports as new updates become available.

The Upper Snake River system has now firmly entered the storage season, with reservoir contents beginning to recover as natural flow exceeds declining irrigation demand. Winter recharge has also started in the Minidoka-to-Milner reach, with roughly 500 cfs currently available for recharge. Even with these improvements, projected carryover remains exceptionally low, currently the second lowest of the past 30 years, creating a difficult outlook for 2027 unless winter and spring precipitation are substantially above average.
