Our Water

Water User Responsibility
Water orders “on” or “off”: Ditchriders are available to receive calls between 7:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m.
All orders for water delivery must be called into the ditchrider 24 hours in advance before 1pm.
At the ditchrider's discretion, a delivery schedule may be set.
During the season, adjustments can normally be made by the following day. To conserve water supplies, it is expected that water users notify their ditchrider when they will be turning off.
District Responsibilities
Turn on and Turn Off Policies: Each year the Board of Directors determines the dates to initiate and terminate water deliveries based on water supplies and weather conditions.
Delivery: The District makes every effort possible to ensure a continuous supply of water to its water users. While it is impossible to guarantee uninterrupted water deliveries, district personnel will do their best to ensure delivery when water is ordered.
Operation: District employees operate all headgates, turnouts, and other control devices. The water user is not to tamper with these facilities. Water users should contact District personnel to assist with any water delivery problems.
Locks: All control devices placed on all headgates, canals, and laterals must remain locked.
Measurement: To help assure water users a consistent and uniform water delivery, measurement is provided by District employees on an as needed basis.
Pumps: The District prohibits pumping directly from any canal or lateral. Headgates are required for all water deliveries.
